Ryanair has announced an expanded London schedule for the summer 2019 season. The carrier announced 23 brand new routes from four different London airports, offering a 5 per cent increase in passengers to a forecast 26 million per year.
The new routes include Kiev, Lviv, and Nantes from Stansted, as well as Alicante, Athens, Barcelona, Bologna, Cork, and Malaga from Luton.
London Southend saw the biggest increase in routes, with Bilbao, Copenhagen, Corfu, Dublin, Faro, and Venice to be added among others. Three new aircraft are set to be based at the hub.
London route network reaches 180
The move brings Ryanair’s total route portfolio out of the London area to 180 from Stansted, Luton, Southend, and Gatwick.
Commenting on the expansion Ryanair Chief Executive Officer, Michael O’Leary, said:
“Ryanair is pleased to launch our biggest ever London S 2019 schedule with over 180 routes from our 4 London airports, including one new base at Southend and 23 new routes to exciting destinations such as Barcelona, Bilbao, Copenhagen, and Kiev.
“Our Summer 2019 schedule will deliver 26m customers per annum through Stansted, Luton, Southend, and Gatwick, all at the lowest fares, as we continue to grow London traffic, tourism, and jobs.”
