Gatwick Airport has announced a new five-year plan to tackle its capacity problem, pumping an extra £1.1bn worth of investment into the airport. Qatar Airways’ inaugural flight from Doha to London Gatwick touched down yesterday at Gatwick Airport, where it was welcomed with a celebratory water salute. British Airways has announced plans to drop its flights between Gatwick and Oakland International Airport for the winter timetable 2018/19. The carrier first launched flights to the San Fransisco Bay area airport in March 2017, shadowing the movements of rival Norwegian.
